During the Vietnam War, a group of friends from the middle class decide to join the Army. They soon find that it is nothing like the noble adventure they thought it would be. Nick and Michael were both in love with the same woman before they left. Steven married his pregnant girlfriend before they left. When they get back, though, all three men are different.
